Yes, the bezels on Nigel were the black with a chrome rim-but they were scratched in places and a bit worn. When I looked to get new ones, I found that the choice was either all black or all chrome.

No, the one I found doesn't have hooks as you describe-just vaccuum cups. And the straps are nylon-so to live it on while not in use would be rather ugly. I've seen ones like you described in catalo
