Scott (and Hobbs) - Thanks for the the info. At least I now know how it's _supposed_ to turn off. Actually, the little ratchet hanger is still pretty tight. Mebbe I can find a position where it will

Many thanks to the list for the info on the maplight. I found the "stow" position and the light goes off. Obviously, I need to counteract the effects of gravity and will pursue one of the velcro idea

And a variation on the oil change fiasco...the guys at our local Tune-up Masters some years ago didn't notice how the bonnet was being supported. Slammed it down and folded the support stay backwards
