The spark ladder is called a Jacobs Ladder. It can actually hold a constant spark in one spot, rather than rising, if you bend the rods correctly. I made one years ago from a neon light transformer.

I'd be interested too. The local Kmart doesn't carry FRAM any more. They changed to Castrol and Pennzoil Filters of which I'd never seen before - in a filter. My car came with a couple Unipart filter
