I am assuming that you are working on a 1500. The first head (515573) is for a 1500 and will work on a 1500 . The other one (307871) is from a Mk3 1300 engine and while it will fit ok, you will find

If you go that route, DO NOT CUT UP A NEW BOX!!!! I have the bottom part of a perfectly good battery box that I cut off Tiny Tim when I relocated the battery to the rear of the passenger compartment.

Don't do it! The fuel and temp gages are temperature regulated by the voltage stabilizer ciruit and adding another element into that circuit would probably cause a great deal of grief. Your best bet
