On he back of the headlamps there are three mounting points. Each mount has a metal clip that retains the headlamp. Pull the metal clips up and out, and you can remove the headlamp by pulling forward

Heat cycling is going to make any rubber harden, and you can't get around the seal flattening under compression. The o-rings will eventually take the shape of their space and start leaking as well. T
