You will get much better results if you use the Gunk Foamy Engine Bright. It works much much better than the regular.

I bought a cast iron two stage, don't the exact specs here, for $800 form Home Depot. They delivered it with the portable fork lift and put it in my garage. So far it has been better than I expected.

Tim is correct. You can take it off without the tool, I have done it that way, and after you have done it once it is much easier the second time (don't ask how I know that). But I would use the tool.
