- I've seen a magazine article that details the differences between the two or three Chevy starters and how they match up. If I remember what I read corrected you have a flywheel and starter mismatch.

- Chev has 2 size flywheels the larger being 14'' these are interchangable with all V/8's and late 6's. The starter for these bolt to the block and are matched to flywheel dia not engine displacement.
