Hi all, My (favorite) uncle bought a '52 GMC longbed 1/2 ton pickup this weekend. I was checking it out (good 5 window cab, bad bed), anyway, on the rear end was this small set of helper springs?!?!?

Can't comment on GMC, but the rear auxillary springs were RPOs (regular production options) on 1 ton and above Chevy ADs (at least as early as 52). The factory installed options had "stops?" above t

My '51 GMC also had a set of these springs installed - the owner's manual lists them as a factory accessory. part #2233278. Most alignment shops can check the alignment and adjust toe-in for you, and

Have the same type of overloads on my '50 GMC 1/2 ton shorty. A friend that has always worked on AD Chevies saw them and said he'd never seen anything like them before, so maybe the 1/2 ton overload
