- Hi Ryan, Shortening the frame to bring the wheel base into the spec's of the 1/2 ton is what you have to do now. You could also just get another long bed and weld the back of the frame to it's origin

- That is my thought, too (what Billy stated). I suppose that if you are going to tub or notch the rear anyway, it doesn't really matter too much whether you cut a longbed frame or use a short frame.
