The tear drop housing is also the same for the 1939-1940 Chevy Car's. I had a 1940 Special Deluxe 2-dr. Sedan with the same housing up front on the fender which were parking lights with clear lenses

...my understanding would be that the stock '49 'burb had just a single taillight above the plate. -A oletrucks is devoted to Chevy and GM trucks built between 1941 and 1959
