It is an HEI distributor. GM started using these in 1974. The vacuum advance models (such as the one in your picture) were in use until computers were put into the cars around 1980. Advantage of HEI

Just to add a quick note about the HEI, MSD offers a great upgrade kit to bump up the volts by a significant amount (don't have the info in front of me, sorry), not too expensive either (under $120us
