- i know the trend in new motors is to run hot but 245 is not what i would want to be running in a 400 sbc. i would first put in a 180 stat-that would give your rad more time to actually cool the water

- i wouldnt hesitate to get a whole new rad-not recore yours. i did mine and the tanks developed pinholes over time and pressure. a whole new rad will be pressure tested to 15# or better. more pressure
