- The early transmission does not have a stay rod. There should be L shaped plates mounted above your engine mounts that limit travel. Sometimes these are ommitted, as some repro mounts don't have lon

- Oog, don't like the sound of that. I have a 66, also with a later transmission, and I haven't figured out how to rig the stay rod, so I was just ignoring it. Guess that could be dangerous... Maffei A

- Oh yeah it can, and I found out the hard way. All I did was hit a small bump in the road after starting off from a stop sign, I was doing maybe 20 MPH and all I herd was a blood curtailing "womp....g
