My 74 midget has just fallen off my Mr. Reliable list. New intake manifold gasket, new vacuum advance for the distributor, fresh gas, a bottle of Heet for good measure and I still get the worst idle

Might be a wee speck of dirt or rust blocking one of the Grose Jets slightly open, causing an over rich mixture at lower RPMs. Pull the float chamber covers and the Grose Jets and hose the jets down

Sounds like a vacuum leak. Is the new advance defective? Plug the port feeding the vacuum advance. Idle different? Acceleration different? Advance the timing a few degrees. Running better? If so take

Check the mixture. Sounds like an over rich setting. You didn't say what tweaks were performed. but it's a good bet the original jetting is no longer valid. Also, double check the float level. It cou
