- Bobby: That's perfectly normal! At idle, particularly with the lights on, these little alternators just don't have the oomph to keep up. I strongly suggest you use a voltmeter, rather than an ammeter

- Bob - You are correct, the "Ignition" light is the idiot light for the charging system. Your '77 B will have the voltage regulator mounted inside the alternator. It could be the reg, but most likely
