they are designed to limit the total travel of the axle to limit travel, thus limiting damage to the rear shock. when you jack up the car, the axle will hang from these straps rather than the weight

they're crap. they don't completely cover the dashpot completely nor can you get the dashpot cap to screw down properly you're better off polishing them. I just did it tonight and it turned out beaut

a high speed buffing wheel and white rouge (similar to Red Rouge but a stronger abrasive) the trick is to NOT apply any pressure. Let the edges of the buffing wheel (layered linen design) do the work

I agree... I just swapped the O/D transmission from YB to OB my MPG rose roughly 4-9 MPG running my normal weekly mix of to and from work for 2 miles and my daily 20 mile stints into downtown Annapol
