Why is it that my Midget hates to idle in stop-start traffic. Normally idles at 700-800 rpm in "normal" driving however when it gets stuck in traffic, it tends to idle at 500 (or lower!). Any insight

Ken, I recently had a similar problem with my Midget. It ended up being the oil seal (broken) which lies between the differential drive flange and the pinion front bearing. Just my 2 cents worth Good

I have had a similar problem with my Midget recently only to find it was a cracked distributor cap. Also check the rotor pin contacts and of course the timing if the cap is clear. All the best Stephe
