IMHO, apart from the anti-drain down advantage, I'd say that spin-on filters are.. Less messy to change. Easier to get to seal to the machined face on the adaptor. Cleaner to handle and throw away.

Assuming you're referring to the spigot bush in the centre of the crank tail, i.e. in the middle of the flywheel, I'd replace it unless it's very new. There are three ways to get these bushes out...
