Well, I thought I had to dive under the dash to disconnect the hoses and such before I remove the heater box from the engine bay. Don't I have to remove the heater box to remove and service the core?

I thought I read recently in Clausager's "Original MGB" that late model MGB engines were painted all black. It was the early engines that were maroon, though I don't know the model year this changed.

I did check Clausager's "Original MGB" last night, and I remembered what he said correctly. According to Clausager, all engines up until August 1971 (1972 mddel year) were painted maroon. After that,
