The problem as described is often caused by loose U bolts on the rear axle mount. I had that exact problem and when I tightened the U bolts it disappeared. Just my $0.02 worth. Ken Scott 77 MGB

I own a 1977 MGB. It does not have the original carb. It has a Weber. Have I butchered it? Is it still an MG? Where is the line to be drawn? It also has a set of air horns, cloth seats, alloy wheels

In a recent post Graham McCann indicated that Webers give poor idle and use lots of fuel. I don't know what Webers he has used but the down draft setup I bought from Moss idles at 600 rpm very nicely
