The tub to body must be shimmed to allow proper alignment of the tub-to-chassis variances. I used the material spring shops use ( approx. 1/8' thick) to seperate leaf springs. Worked quite well cut

Hi Ted, I had much the same problem with a TD tank. I used an extension mirror through the sending unit hole and discovered that there was a channel running the full width of the bottom of the tank .
