Hi Dennis, I found a metric sealed roller bearing and hardened steel race at IBT. Problem is ... inner race is approx. 3 thous smaller than cross shaft fixing bolt. You have to have it (fixing bolt)

Hi All, I have always been told not to use roller (needle) bearings on both sides of the crosshaft. They could seize when the chassis flexes, that is supposed to be the reason why they made it like t

It's worthy of note that TABC have a form of self-aligning bearing for the handbrake cross-shaft, probably to avoid locking up the shaft as the chassis flexes. Regards Dave Dwyer J2, TA, TC /// unsub

TABC is the TA, TB, TC. they have a news group similar to this one. On the early T types the cross shaft is located by 2 very thin bronze bearings that are in a cage and bolted to the chassis by two

The TC brake cross shaft and bearing set up is similar but completely different from MMM. In my opinion, the TC bearing set up while self aligning, is simply not up to the task of handling 4 wheel b

I think on reflection that the change to the self-aligning bearing on the T-types was more for parts cost reduction and ease of assembly than to relieve any lock-up problem. I don't think it would b
