I can only report on PA 1823. I have top and bottom of prop shaft cover as you describe... but bottom plate extends only as far as cross-member supporting the forward end of rear springs (2'1" long)

On my wiring diagram, it shows three wires to dynamo. The third is to ground (earth) but I find no terminal. Is is simply grounded through the engine/chassis frame as part of the installation? Don B.
