Bob, I think that those converted Ford OHV heads are intended for the 240/300 Ford 6 with 7 main bearings. I hear that they terrorize the 7 main bearing GMC's and Chevvies............................

Without looking in the book, I believe that for an automatic tranny either a metal shield or an approved blanket will suffice. I believe that NHRA is the only one that requires a flex-plate shield.
