The instrument itself is a self contained unit within the casing, so you can remove the cover without having it all come apart... it is one piece inside. That being said, taking the cover off won't

I can second that and the recommendation for MoMa. I have been using them for years doing difficult restorations for Triumphs and Austin-Healey gauges. They do first class work and at reasonable rate

I know that I said in an earlier response that there is not much that can be done internally with the gauges except to clean them and lightly oil them (instrument grade oil only), without replacement
