First you need to make another hole in the float. This will enable you to get the gas out that is in it. If you blow into the hole that you make then the gas will come out of the original hole. When

The Ford brass float is a direct replacement for the plastic float you get with a Moss sending unit. It does not work with the original float, at least not with the original brass float for a BJ8 tha

The local Ford dealer had the float in stock. I do not know about a BJ8 but the replacement assembly that I got from Moss a couple of years ago had a plastic float. Popping that one off and installin

I ordered a replacement sending unit from Moss several years ago. I installed it, but about three days later when the gas gauge registered permanently empty I found a small crack in the plastic float
