FWIW,I was told that if the Pertronix was going bad, it doesn't give any warning--just goes--either works or it doesn't. Anyone confirm? As far as them failing, I have used it in my Healey for 6 year

I might make a case that I'm safer w/o them. Ofter, relying soly on the mirrors, you could have someone in the blind spot and not see them. I "always" turn and look completely behind and to the side

Will you have tubes in them? When I add tubes, I run with 38 pounds. Reason--it helps minimize tube rubbing against the tire. It will probably ride a little harder, but doesn't bother me. tom
