- I used it in the j-type for all of last year. Shifted just fine -- and that was usually at about 5500 RPM in third gear. Dropped it back down while decelerating into turns. Never gave me any problem.

- Surprising that you're having a problem with that transmission--it might just be the one you've got. I had a Toyota 2TG motor in my TR3 with a five speed that shifted flawlessly. Maybe you just need
