One of our guys had his TR4 clutch explode at the end of the straight at Winton in Vic . Cut the bell housing in half and dumped the fragments in the passenger footwell . No shield just the cardboard

You are correct it was a early finger type clutch . I have not heard of a diaphram clutch exploding but we have had a number of flywheels come off the 2.5 motors but not come through the bell housin
