I have seen this problem since 1969. I was wondering when someone was going to bring it up. Short answer... Drill out & sleeve shock or go oversize with bolt and use socket head bolt. Just tightened

The next set, which I just looked at on the bench, COULD BE 40 YEARS OLD. I found new original stock set of Hepolite pistons & rings and based on the box, I suspect that they ARE about 40 years old.
