- why not just upgrade to an a newer alternator? are not newer alternators designed with internal regulators?

- My alternator is fine. It cranks out plenty of current and will regulate with an old style mechanical regulator if I keep the contacts clean and properly adjusted. Replacing the entire alternator as

- My 1600 has a solid state regulator but it was on the car when I bought it. I can check it for numbers if no one else on the list has information on the solid state regulators. daveS -- Original Mess

- Regulators for 240Zs will work as well as 510 regulators. They're easier to find than Roadster regulators. I bought a few solid state regulators from JC Whitless many years back. One of the problems
