Have 69 2L with a recently rebuilt engine and solex carbs that I took off a parts car. The number 4 cylinder is "dead" at an idle. Once rpms go up, it fires and pulls just fine. Electronics are good

Solex carbs do have some odd fault problems. I am aware of one that allows FUEL to come through. In your case I would suspect: a) blocked idle fuel circuit b) missing brass termination (little plug

I'm definitely no expert but... If you have a air flow meter check the air balance between barrels,you might have a bent shaft. I think my rear solex carb shaft may be slightly bent because I have a

Someone else on the list suggested the same thing . . . checked it and, indeed there is a significant difference in the air flow between the barrels for 3 and 4. Waiting for more advice on "tweaking
