I just had the head from my 1600 milled. It mic-ed to 3.175. What is the minimum? I assume this is below tolerance, because I put it back on, without the gasket, and finger tightened the head bolts,

When I took my 67.5 2000 head in to be worked on, the machinist that worked on it was not familiar with overhead cams, or he did'nt care about what he was doing. He milled the head, almost to a point

a. Get another head b. clearance the head to fit the pistons by flycutting and or hand grinding. (expensive and compression will be high) c. replace the pistons with flatops d. if the R16 pistons are

Some one has got to have a good condition head for poor Robert. That would be the simplest, best solution to this problem. From what I've seen, these heads are plentifull and a hell of allot less exp

Other than a good replacement head, most of the measures suggested are a patch one form or another. Each has its merits and downsides, but I don't think the intention was to rebuild the whole engine

Originally, my intention was to replace the head. I even got one shipped to me. I ended up returning it, because it seemed to be in much worse condition than mine, except that it was within tolerance
