Was cruising the net when I came upon this ad for a 69 2000 for sale. I like the look of the car and check out the wild custom front spoiler. The ad lists a "Custom aluminum intake" with Holley 4bbl.

I can't open that page, but a 4-bbl intake manifold certainly wouldn't be impossible. It would probably dip down like the Canon intake "arms" for downdraft carbs on Z's (I've seen this type of adapte

Now there's an intriguing technical problem - designing a manifold to take a 4-bbl carb which minimizes the variations in intake tract length. One would only need a relatively small 4-bbl carb to han

The smallest 4 bbl they make is a 390 with vacuum secondaries. I ran a Bob Sharp intake and carb on my Z. Helped a lot with cold starting in the winter and I got phenomenal gas mileage too. 30+. It s

If I am correct, the smallest holley 4bbl is a 360CFM. Don't the Mikunis flow more than that each? Sid Sidney Raper 1964 1500 1967 SRL311 00060 1967 SRL311 00076 Jacksonville Florida http://www.geoci

Well, Holley may have made a smaller one for a manufacturer but the smallest they sell aftermarket is the 390 - a 4161. The next step up I believe is 500cfm which is available in 2bbl and 4bbl sizes.

As others have pointed out, a 4bbl runs on two barrels most of the time. This makes manifold design even more interesting, because you have to allow for a plenum under the carb. I'm sure the Solex se

Aside from Holley carbs being common and cheap, are there any advantages over Solex or even SU setup? -Marc T. == Marc Tyler Designer, Animal Firm 830-324-6578 www.animalfirm.com /// datsun-roadsters

I doubt there are any performance reasons a Holley would be better but I am sure that unless your SUs or Solexes are balanced and setup correctly the single Holley would make it idle better and easie
