Can I suggest something? It might be a good idea to measure the length of those stacked up washers, and cut some pieces of .125" wall steel pipe / tube with an ID close to the OD of the bolts to fit

May I make an alternate suggestion? I have not attempted to source it recently, but speed shops used to carry a chromed aluminum tube that was a universal alternator spacer. It was PLENTY long to rep
