I have a friend that did a 12a 73 Midget. With the stock 4:22 rear gear, the thing was a rocket on takeoff. Shifting into 5th would still throw the car sideways a little. The stripped block will fit

The Spridgets only came with a 4 speed, and at 70 mph, you are at 5000 rpm, 4:22 rear gear. So getting a Datsun 5 speed is a great addition, it drops the rpms down to below 4000 at speed. The ribcase

remove the tank, fill it with water, and put it on the grille. BBQ it for a couple of hours, add seasoning as needed. This is done on the Spridget list quite often, and works well, and CHEAP!!! Brad
