I'm just south of Sacramento and I'm sorry but that's likely a sub-$1000 car. Though actually I sold my similar condition '67 1600 to Ryan Bird for $1300, so maybe I'm just comparing what I'd pay vs.

I painted my header with a $5 can of header paint. Turned flat black after being at full temp. but hasn't flaked or chipped. Don't know if it controls rust but two years later it isn't rusty. Then ag

I haven't had to rebuild a Roadster engine, but did recently rebuild a J15 for my PL411. Prices for that engine are still down in the same range as the prices you quoted ($15 pistons, $35 gasket set,

AFAIK they are OK. I've had other issues with the car so haven't put many miles on it but the machine shop was happy with the parts and the engine runs fine.

A guy a little north of me actually has one in his garage! It's an earlier (more rounded) model and he can only drive legally it on certain days/occasions (don't recall the rules).
