I looked at the block more closely, and if it didn't come rust color from the factory in 1966, it was probably black as there is no blue on it at all. I wonder if the head was also black. I'll use a

I had a minifold welded as well. Didn't last. Once it is used there is too much carbon in the steel to take a good weld I am told. Gary C red one black one
