There was a rather extended discussion about this on the fordnatics list a few weeks back. The general consensus was that it should be on the bottom. On my car ('64 Cobra) and all AC Aces (as far as

One good reason I can think of not to put the switch near the top is because if the coolant level drops, the switch may not activate the fan at all. I don't know how various components might work in
