Very good point, well taken, I don't see any other choice. But Maybe I should go with used Stock Alloys? Still I bet they'd cost $$$ even used. (forgive my ponderings) Spending money does that to me

I'd like to disagree about the plastic vs metal point you made. I have after market street alloys with plastic hubcentric rings. They are an extremely tight fit to the wheel (so tight that I thought

I knew he was talking about a Miata... I didn't know Miatas were hubcentric. Perhaps the Miata joint that's selling these wheels sells them with better rings? I was really unimpressed with the plasti

Don't feel too bad, Saturns have the same problem. Ever seen an aftermarket 15x6 with an offset anywhere near 50mm? Come to think of it... have you ever seen an aftermarket 15x6 wheel? Pretty nice if

Hmmm... perhaps the rings are merely there to position the wheel correctly prior to torquing the lugs? Without the rings (be they metal or plastic), the wheel could possibly shift ever-so-slightly, e

It is my experience on my MR2 (with hubcentric rims) that without the rings, you can properly position and torque all you want. The rims can and will move under load and become imbalanced when you ar

My first set of autocrossing rims were aftermarket lugcentric rims. I had no idea about them pesky rules and bought rims the wrong width and offset, but no one complained (typical nice autocrossers).
