- Interestingly enough, this subject also comes up from time to time on the Volvo lists. I don't know about the 80's Volvos, but for my '67 with a D-type overdrive and for the early fuel-injected cars

- John- I have never seen plastic gears in the OD unit. There are planet gears, but they would not be affected by the heavier oil. Berry Price
