hi, all. i've got the valve turned off at the engine, but heat still comes into the passenger footwell. if you take a notebook and place it up against the tunnel/kidney area, it comes out quite hot.

Oliver--Feel the inlet heater hose close to where it leaves the shutoff valve, to be sure that the valve is working as it should. Do this check with the engine up to operating temp, and with the hood

I know that on my 76, the valve doesn't turn off all the water going through the heater core unless I push it just a little further by hand. valve, to be sure that the valve is working as it should.

One of the many reasons to consider this valve (http://tr6.danielsonfamily.org/HeaterValve.htm) as long as you're not in to "originality". It works easily and won't fail like the stock ones. Bob Dani

Another data point - my car is the same. In my case, the problem is that the cable sheath on the heater control cable pops out from the knob so when you push the cable, not much happens at the heater
