By the way. Once you remove the old dash support cover, a very nice cast aluminum piece is revealed. I've seen polished trailing arms. Wonder if anybody has polished up a dash support. - Hugh

I used laquer thinner and a toothbrush. On the domes, I went over them with Scotchbrite and buffed them with white rouge. The look pretty good, but not gaudy. - Hugh

Tim, before you do that you might want to try the trick I used. Get a broom stick and stick it in one of the intake ports. Lift up on it. It may lift up the head. Worked for me. - Hugh Fader

When I rebuilt my carbs last summer, I found one of them dry like yours. It turned out that one of the jets had stuck and was not allowing any fuel into the float bowl. You might want to check that.
