- Research that I have done showed that EP (ethelyn propylene) (sp) is compatible with traditional brake fluid as well as silicone. I too have silicone in my '6 for several years without any leaks. Sam

- Welcome to tempered glass. It is heat treated as opposed to lamination as the windshield is done. My suggestion would be to just take the mechanism to a glass shop and have them do it. Not much $ wh
