Hi,

My recollection is like that which David has just shared as well. It's two
pieces. Small barbed metal clips push onto the steel lip. The rubber seal then
presses onto the steel lip and is held by the barbs on the clips, and then the
fuzzy piece gets pushed onto the rubber piece. The rubber piece is flat so it
seals really more so along the edges of the doors, not against the face of the
door which is how the bulb shaped door seals work (and makes it hard to shut
the door!).

Like Dave says, Todd Clarke has reproduced this original style seal for MGAs.

Regards,
Ed

 Kelvin,

The seal that Todd Clarke does in a two
 piece seal.

 The car
may be on the other side of the world but I found some
pictures here on this side.  This car is very original and
I would be confident in saying that these door seals are
original too.  You can see that it still has the rubber
seals at the top and bottom of the door hinges.  This is
the best that I have here, but it may help?

 Kind regards,

 David

That would be great. I found the
pictures I took during disassembly and you can see the
retaining clips, but the seal is off. Come to think of it, I
probably saved the seals but they are buried at the moment.

I thought they were the two piece
design rather than the currently available one piece.

 Everyone.

 Thanks for the recommendations for
current replacements, but Iâ??m trying to get my head around
how the original seals were made so I can document them.
