Is this the first time you have powered up the harness? If so, you may =
have the same problem I had when I first hooked up the harness in Ian's =
car. There are two wires that go to the brake light switch: a (17) green =
and a (22) green with purple. The factory also saw fit to use a (22) =
green with purple to power the heater motor switch. Both of these wires =
come together rather close together in the under dash harness roughly =
behind the fuel gauge. There are three (22) green/purple circuits that =
come off of the A4 terminal on the fuse block: 1) goes to a double =
connector that feeds the heater motor switch then the B terminal of the =
petrol and the water temp gauge, 2) feeds the stop lamp switch then the =
reverse lamp switch and 3) feeds power to the turn signal switch (up the =
famous stator tube) and through another double connector feeds the turn =
signal flasher.
I found that I had #1 and #2 switched - once I figured this out it took =
about 1 minute to set things right...
