pitfire. I drove it in all kinds of weather but would sometimes borrow=
my mother=E2=80=99s VW.<div><br></div><div>One winter my battery was so bad=
that my roommate would have to jump me every morning. I would back my=
car in and he would pull his in. Once warmed up, the Spitfire would s=
tart the rest of the day but would be dead again overnight.</div><div><br></=
div><div>Of course, these days the cars stay garages until late March.</div>=

I've owned my 4A for 56 years this coming June. It was my only car for the f=
irst 2 years (69 and 70) and driven in the weather regardless of how bad it w=
as. I have no idea how it was driven from new in 1966 but based on its condi=
tion when I bought it, I doubt
it was driven in bad weather. Once put away the rust battle began culminati=
ng in a replacement frame in 1989 and finally a body tub from TX in 2008 and=
good fenders. The only original body panels are the "bonnet and maybe the R=
F Fender. It does get driven
in the rain only if unavoidable but otherwise stays dry. A labor of love an=
d at almost 79 I still enjoy driving it. I hope to continue driving it as we=
transition to the mountains of Western NC this summer sometime. </div>=

Sprite, MG Midget, or a TR3 as my daily driver. Lots of fun, but the r=
oads were not as crowded then and the cars were disposable, older models. No=
w I don't out of respect for the car.
After digging all of the rust possible out of the old TR3 I don't want to i=
ntroduce any more salt or even moisture than avoidable. </div>

rom Morgantown, wv to New Martinsville, WV across a hilly twisty turnny WV r=
oad, while snowing. This is still one of my most favored memorable trips in m=
y still drivable beast. Today
I'm afraid to take her out if it even looks like it might rain in the next 2=
4 hours. I know the TR has not changed that much, So what the hell has=
