Yep, I was there in the Poconos in 1981.  Drove my white TR3B from Norfolk, VA, 
and *camped* a couple of exits away.

I recall having to drive into NJ to run the autocross.  It was my first 
autocross and I have been "hooked" since.

Back then, it was controversial but considered innovative to require 
participation in a driving event to compete in concours(sp?).  Plenty of 
advance 
warning and discussion, well ahead of time.

As I recall, only _one_ car was trailered, a TR3 from Michigan.
