  Subject: Hoosier Speedster Tire

I just got a new set of Hoosier Speedster Racing Tires 185/65/15. They have
  been approved by CSRG.

I ran against another Alfa at Fernley last week and the owner really liked
  the handling.

I'm saving them for my 4th of July races at Seattle and Portland.

The interesting part of this is the tire profile. I don't know what they
were smoking when they measured these and advertised the specifications.
The
truth is that they fit my Alfa 750 fine, even better than my Hoosier
Vintgae
  TD's.

The Hoosier TD 5:00x15 is about 24.5 " in diameter and has a section width
  of about 7.5".
The new Speedster is advertised as 24.15" diameter and 7.6" section width.
I
just measured a Speedster on a 6" wide Panasport. It is actually only 23.5"
diameter and about 7 1/8" section width.

I'm not complaining, the tire is $149 compared to $180 for the TD, but I am
  confused.

Any thoughts about tire pressures ?

  Don Queen
