Have you ever thought about participating in a race at a track you've never
seen? Wouldn't it be great to take a visual, real-time tour of the track from
the drivers perspective before you arrive for your first practice? Thanks to
veteran vintage racer Gary Kuntz, you can now pop a DVD into your computer or
player and do just that. Gary has selected in-car video footage from his
library, of twelve tracks from around the U.S. and compiled them onto an
interactive DVD. A CD with corresponding track maps (and web site addresses)
for each course is also included. The individual maps may be printed from this
CD. Once the DVD is running, you select from the list of tracks, click on the
one you want and the program goes to that track. You are shown the track
name, number of turns and its length. Once you click to see the tour, the
track map pops up for ten seconds, next you're inside the racecar as it heads
for the start/finish line. The viewer is given a two lap tour of the course
with audio. Each turn number is indicated on the screen during the first lap
which you can compare with a printout of the track map. Video quality is very
good and clearly shows the viewer what the track looks like as if you were
behind the wheel. This is a great way to prepare for your first visit to some
of America's greatest race courses. For further information or to order the
Video, contact Gary at glkuntz@aol.com. A VHS Version is also available.
